The Sherwood Mechanical team has recently completed the High Tech Plumbing on the APU Science Center for C.W. Driver, which received a Gold level Leed status. The $54 million Science building is APU's latest signature building on campus, and serves as the centerpiece of current capital projects. Certainly this is a first-class, 71,000-square-foot, three-story facility that includes a 90-seat lecture hall, 23 discipline-specific classrooms, 3 general-purpose classrooms, 37 teaching and research laboratories, NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) and electron microscope rooms, an animal research facility, faculty offices, student study and community areas. Sherwood's quality staff skillfully installed all the plumbing systems; sewer, storm drain, double containment acid waste & vent, domestic water, industrial water, DI water, compressed air, vacuum, nitrogen, natural gas, condensates, instantaneous water heaters, equipment, lab turrets and fume hoods.
